In a strengthened effort to improve cancer care across the Negros Island Region (NIR), the Riverside Medical Center Inc. (RMCI) and the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) have signed a renewed Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) expanding their existing partnership to cover radiation therapy for all types of cancer, not only breast cancer.
The ceremonial signing was held at the RMCI Centers of Excellence Building and marked a significant milestone in the collaboration that began in 2024. Over the past year, the partnership has already benefited 108 breast cancer patients referred by CLMMRH to RMCI, providing access to timely treatment and specialized care for women across the region.
With the renewed agreement, both institutions reaffirmed their shared commitment to ensuring that no cancer patient regardless of age, gender, or financial capacity is left without access to essential treatment.
“This is not just a partnership between two hospitals,” said RMCI President and Chief Executive Officer Genesis Goldi Golingan. “This is a partnership for life. A partnership rooted in compassion, inclusivity, and a deep sense of responsibility to our fellow Negrenses.”
Under the expanded MOA, the RMCI will continue delivering comprehensive cancer services through its Metro Riverside Cancer Care Center. These services include radiation therapy, chemotherapy, and oncosurgical care. The hospital also announced future plans to further enhance its cancer treatment capabilities, including the expansion of facilities, the installation of a second linear accelerator, and the integration of nuclear medicine for advanced diagnostic and therapeutic services.
The initiative supports the Department of Health’s Priority Outcome No. 8, which focuses on boosting cancer screening and treatment, and aligns with the broader goals of Universal Health Care by making specialized medical services more accessible, affordable, and available to all Filipinos.
Through this renewed collaboration, the RMCI and the CLMMRH aim to strengthen public–private healthcare partnerships, ensure timely and life-saving interventions, and help shape a future in which a cancer diagnosis no longer means fear, but hope and a fighting chance for every patient.
